Abstract

Triadimenol implanted directly into the rhizomes of 2–3 m tall banana plants, at 0.5–2.0 g/plant, arrested development of leaf spot and speckle diseases caused by Mycosphaerelfa musicola and M. musae, respectively, but only on leaves that had already unfurled at the time of treatment. The treatment had no effect on disease on leaves that emerged after treatment. The level of control was not as good as the current commercial practice of spraying the leaves directly with an oil-propiconazole mixture.
