Abstract
Six disinfectants and a distilled water control were tested for their ability to suppress the growth of P. cinnamomi on Banksia grandis (Willde) leaf discs. Two immersion times (30 seconds and 120 seconds) and various concentrations of the chemicals were tested. it was found that of the six disinfectants, those based on quaternary ammonium compounds were more effective than the phenolic and sodium hypochlorlte compounds. There was no significant dlfference between the different quaternary ammonium compound based chemicals and no significant difference between the two times tested for these chemicals.
