Abstract

An experimental investigation was made of frequency conversion by stimulated Raman scattering (STRS) of wide-band radiation from an electric-discharge pulse-periodic XeCl laser (308 nm) with 1–3 mrad angular divergence. The conversion took place in compressed hydrogen to the first (353 nm), second (414 nm), and third (499 nm) Stokes components at efficiencies of 33, 15, and 2.5%, respectively; the total quantum efficiency was up to 50%. It was established that without circulation of hydrogen the parameters of such STRS conversion remained unchanged at a repetition frequency of 50 Hz.
