Abstract

While many entrepreneurial ventures are started due to the desire to monetize a hobby or passion, some ventures are more opportunistic and are started because an individual sees a need in the market. And some are started because the individual just knows that they do not want to work for someone else forever but are not necessarily sure what they want to do. Regardless of how the entrepreneurial venture starts, finding and maintaining enjoyment, even when it is not always fun, can be a challenge. They say when you do something you love, you will never work again. The reality is more complicated than that. Understanding the value that your business brings to the market is a key element in determining whether your venture will be a success or a failure.
