Abstract

Many women and children spoke not only from the heart but of their heart and depicted images of what had happened to theirs as a result of abuse. Hearts—black, bruised, broken, and torn—were one of the most frequent images women and children used to express pain and betrayal. This chapter presents the voices of women and the images they drew.
