Abstract

Roderick A. Ferguson suggests “as it kept silent about sexuality and gender, historical material- ism, along with liberal ideology, took normative sexuality as the emblem of order, nature and universality, making that which deviated from hete- reopatriarchal ideals the sign of disorder” (6).
