Abstract
With the exception of the UK, energy policies and public opinion in most of Western Europe seem to have been significantly impacted by Fukushima. Reactions to Fukushima outside Europe were more mixed. As in parts of Asia, most governments stuck to their pro-nuclear policies, despite in some cases increasing levels of public opposition. This chapter looks at the US and then at the areas of the world not so far reviewed: the Middle East, South America, Africa and finally Russia. In all these areas, opposition rose, sometimes to very high levels, but policies mostly remained unchanged — with some notable exceptions in the Middle East.
