Abstract

We have surveyed Snow’s fiction and non-fiction books and aimed to give a sense of the range, variety and depth of his concerns as a writer. In conclusion we examine Snow’s critical reception in his own lifetime, explore the reasons for the hostility he aroused, and outline his posthumous reputation.
