Abstract
Women and girls in the West have reputedly refused to embrace computer games with the same zeal as their male peers. Theorists from a range of disciplines have investigated the reasons behind these statistics (Bryce & Rutter, 2002; Cassell & Jenkins, 2000; Kerr 2003; Krotoski 2000; Schott & Horrell, 2000). One thing these diverse efforts share is an interest in girls and their gaming preferences.
