Abstract
The “depth boys”, as the neo-psychoanalysts were called, used ink-blots and pictures or photos to peer into the murky pre- or unconscious aspect of individuals to try to reveal what they really felt and thought. They were interested in that fascinating and most puzzling of all concepts, motivation. What drives people to indulge in the oddest of behaviors?.
