Abstract

Assertiveness is about open communication, and is a language of respect and inclusivity. Building assertive relationships in which people can be open and honest with each other, freely sharing their ideas and developing each other’s ideas without fear or prejudice, is key to business success. Through working together, and connecting with each other, people get better results and are more creative. Providing forums in which people can be supported in being open and honest with each other is empowering. People are recognized for who they are, and are able to bring their “best selves” to their work and the overall success of the business.
