Abstract
Hayek thought that social justice would, in the end, be disastrous for society because it would endanger freedom. Why did he think so? The reason is that, for him, social justice meant income redistribution and this was in his view directly connected with socialism. Therefore, the introduction of social justice meant that socialism ruled and socialism meant centralization and nationalization of the means of production. In short, it meant the introduction of a planned economy.
