Abstract

Many people who come across NLP want to know whether it is backed up by research. ‘Even its greatest enthusiasts are hard-pressed to find serious scientific research that backs up its wilder claims’, wrote Fran Abrams of NLP in the Times Educational Supplement in 2004.1 Is this a fair comment? In this chapter we examine the research that is available into, and relevant to, NLP.
