Abstract
Chapter 5 draws on previous research that I conducted with teachers and most of my research with school leaders to theorize and construct ways that educational leaders who embark on a path of critical work can be mentored, supported, and sustained. Collaborative mentorship is discussed as a mentoring relationship that has the possibilities of supporting school leaders. It is a mentoring relationship that disrupts the traditional notion of protégé and novice, and instead positions mentoring as a relationship of equals, learning and co-constructing knowledge together.
