Abstract
Along with staging revivals of classic musicals such as Carousel and South Pacific, the Lincoln Center Theater (led by artistic director Andre Bishop and executive producer Bernard Gersten) has worked with contemporary American writers and composers such as Jason Robert Brown, Adam Guettel, and Michael John LaChiusa to produce new musicals that might otherwise be deemed not sufficiently commercial for Broadway.
