Abstract
Producing Broadway musicals such as My Fair Lady and Fiddler on the Roof as well as original Israeli musicals such as Kazablan, and I Like Mike, Giora Godik (1921–1977) attracted the Tel Aviv elite to the refurbished Alhambra Theatre in Jaffa throughout the 1960s. Though Godik fled Israel in the 1970s, eventually renouncing his citizenship, his heyday as a musical theatre producer had a lasting influence on musical theatre in Israel.
