A New Synthesis of 3,4-Diaryl-5-oxo-4,5-dihydroisoxazoles and Their Transformation to 5-[N-(ω-Aminoalkyl)amino]isoxazoles and 5-(2-Aminoethylthio)isoxazoles A novel method to synthesize 3,4-diaryI-5-oxo-4,5-dihydroisoxazoles by addition of methyl lithio(phenyl)acetates to benzonitrile oxides is described. The isoxazolinones are transformed to 5-[N-(ω-aminoalkyl)-amino]isoxazoles and 5-(2-aminoethylthio)isoxazoles, respectively, via the corresponding 5-chloroisoxazoles.
