Abstract

The silicon level of the rhizomes of Agropyronrepens has been determined at various vegetation stages of the plant. Extraction rates have also been measured of silicon from the rhizomes, at 20° and 90°, from the fresh and dry material. The rates obeyed an earlier developed simple relationship. Optimum conditions of the extraction have also been established and the material balance of silicon in the extraction process has been made.
