Zur Genese traumatischer Pallidum-, Balken- und Marknekrosen
Traumatic necrosis of globus pallidus, corpus callosum and white matterPublication History
Publication Date:

Summary
The causes of necrosis of the globus pallidus are discussed, in particular, the genesis of unilateral necrosis in the globus pallidus after head trauma. A complex series of sequences is assumed in which trauma itself and, in particular, the type of mechanical force is felt to be of greater importance than hypoxia, cerebral oedema and cerebro-spinal fluid pressure. The causes of necrosis of the corpus callosum and of subcortical white matter after head trauma are also discussed.
