Background

The majority of full-thickness macular holes is idiopathic. Only a small proportion is caused by blunt trauma [7]. Reports using optic coherence tomography (OCT) in traumatic macular holes (TMH) are limited. To understand the mechanism of development and spontaneous closure of TMH, the accumulation of well-documented cases is important [6].
