An improved synthesis of substituted benzoyl acetates

Abstract

The formation of aroyl acetates from ethyl t-butyl malonate by the mixed anhydride procedure is discussed, and the application of the procedure to the preparation of novel benzoyl acetates carrying a free carboxy-group is described.
