Ruthenium-based metal–organic framework catalyst for CO2 fixation onto epoxides

Abstract

The formation of value-added cyclic carbonates by the cycloaddition of CO2 to various epoxides is investigated using a ruthenium-based metal–organic framework (Ru-HKUST-1). The Ru-HKUST-1 catalyst demonstrates catalytic activity for CO2 fixation with a high substrate concentration under mild conditions, and is shown to be more active than the traditional Cu-HKUST-1.
