The establishment of an infrared quantitative model, Quantitative Analysis of Multi-Components by a Single Marker and an integrated fingerprint method for the quality control of Zhenju Jiangya Tablets

Abstract

Traditional Chinese medicines and their products contain complex active compounds whose quality control is challenging and hence has drawn extensive attention. The Zhenju Jiangya tablet (ZHJYP) is a compound preparation of Chinese and Western medicine mainly used in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension. In this paper, the pretreatment method of multi-peak fitting was applied to establish an infrared quantitative model in order to predict the content of the main components in ZHJYP. Secondly, the QAMS method was applied to ZHJYP with one of its chemical components (HCT) used as an internal standard to determine the content of the other two active components. Finally, the infrared fingerprint and HPLC fingerprint were established to comprehensively evaluate the quality consistency of ZHJYP. The results showed that the established infrared quantitative model achieved better performance in predicting the content of active components. In addition, there was no significant difference between the contents of the two components calculated by the QAMS method and the external standard method (ESM). In summary, the two methods of assay of active components combined with the fingerprint analysis will provide a valuable reference for the analysis of active compounds and the overall quality control of ZHJYP.
