One-pot double [3 + 2] cycloaddition for diastereoselective synthesis of tetracyclic pyrrolidine compounds

Abstract

A multicomponent double [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of azomethine ylides has been developed for the synthesis of pyrrolidine-fused tetracyclic compounds. This reaction efficiently and stereoselectively generates six bonds and seven chiral centers in a one-pot reaction process.
