The nanoscale drum-gong-cymbal-like mixed-valence CuIICuI3cluster polymer and magnetism study

Abstract

The synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of the mixed-valence CuICuII clusters 1D nano-size tape polymer were reported. The drum-gong-cymbal-like pattern has first been found in this structure. Complex [(phen)2CuII2Cl10CuI6] forms the most compact stacking mode in the crystal lattice. At very low temperature, the complex exhibits weak ferromagnetic coupling with spin canting antiferromagnetic interactions. The thermal gravity (TG) data indicate that this complex has better thermal stability.
