Determination of fluoride by substoicheiometric isotope dilution

Abstract

A rapid simple determination has been developed for fluoride ions in the 25 to 150 µg range by stoicheiometric solvent extraction into chloroform with tetraphenylstibonium sulphate reagent. The tracer fluoride solution was labelled with fluorine-18 prepared by neutron irradiation of lithium carbonate. Halides interfere, but not sulphate or phosphate.
