[Mo9S8O12(OH)8(H2O)2]2–: a novel polyoxothiomolybdate with a MoVI octahedron encapsulated in a reduced MoV cyclic octanuclear core

Abstract

The novel polyoxothioanion [Mo9S8O12(OH)8(H2O)2]2– was prepared from the acido-basic condensation of four {MoV2S2O2} building units around a central {MoVIO6} octahedron, the anion was characterized by X-ray diffraction as a tetramethylammonium salt.
