Electronic properties of carbon toroids

Abstract

In a recent Scientific Correspondence, Liu et al.1 reported observing carbon toroids. They suggested that these objects could be considered as quantum wires and that they would exhibit interesting transport properties. Here I provide theoretical support for this proposition.
