Non-ionic Surfactants as Drag Reducing Additives

Abstract

THE addition of small amounts of certain materials to fluids undergoing turbulent flow causes a reduction on pressure drop called drag reduction. Polymer solutions, soap solutions, and solid suspensions in liquids and gases have all demonstrated this phenomenon1.
