Role of Stroma in Hæmoglobin Synthesis: Experiments on Duck Red Cells in vitro

Abstract

IT has been suggested that the formation of hæmoglobin takes place by the transformation of one protein (stroma) into another through an intermediate phase rich in non-protein nitrogen1. We have investigated this question using radioactive tracers.
