AN ATTEMPT AT A NATURAL CLASSIFICATION OF THE STEROIDS

Abstract

THE manifold and overlapping activities of hormonal steroids tend to give the impression that there is no orderly pharmacological correlation among them. An additional complication has recently been introduced by the observation that under suitable experimental conditions all steroid hormones exhibit anaesthetic properties.
