Methods for Reconstructing the Structure of an Indistinct Spectrum

Abstract

Algorithms to determine the internal structure of indistinct spectra with the use of the integral Fourier and Hilbert transformations and the maximum‐entropy method (MEM) are suggested. The algorithms used result in easily interpreted contrast estimates that allow unambiguous reconstruction of the initial structure of an indistinct spectrum. The action of the algorithms is demonstrated on an example of model and experimental IR spectra. It is shown that the algorithms described can be informative in determining the structure of the OH band of crystalline and powder materials.
