Protein kinase C: Ports of anchor in the cell

Abstract

The cytoplasm is afloat with highly specialized proteins that have defined chores in signal transduction. Distinguishing among the myriad signals transduced by members of the protein kinase C family may be helped by specific anchoring of these enzymes to scaffold proteins that localize particular signalling cascades.
