Hydrogen-induced optical properties of FC/Pd/Mg films: Roles of grain size and grain boundary

2023, Journal of Alloys and CompoundsMechanisms of hydrides’ nucleation and the effect of hydrogen pressure induced driving force on de-/hydrogenation kinetics of Mg-based nanocrystalline alloys
2022, International Journal of Hydrogen EnergyCitation Excerpt :SEM and DF micrographs clearly demonstrate that the constitute phases attach to each other and uniformly distributed in the eutectics. This microstructure contributes to the formation of different phase boundaries such as Mg2Ni/Mg, Mg2Ni/Mg17La2 and Mg/Mg17La2, which are beneficial for enhancing the hydrogen storage properties of Mg-based alloys [38,39]. In Refs. [13,40], they have been reported that the diffusion of H atoms through the grain/interphase boundaries is apparently exceeds their diffusion rate in the grains during hydrogen absorption process.
Fast lateral hydrogen diffusion in magnesium-hydride films on sapphire substrates studied by electrochemical hydrogenography
2018, International Journal of Hydrogen EnergyCitation Excerpt :Thus, the independency of the effective diffusion coefficients on geometrical parameters experimentally confirms this numerical finding. Uchida et al. recently showed that the vertical hydrogen diffusion in Mg films strongly depends on the loading current density [35,11]. This was related to a strong dependency of the dihydride's nuclei density and the blocking layer formation on the loading current density.
