    Citation Excerpt :

In our opinion, due to its effect on muscle efficiency, late PRC realisation may require a long and difficult functional rehabilitation. Whilst this surgery seems mutilating, if realised early, it could avoid an invalidating functional impotence induced by many surgeries and PRC might be supplemented by capitate resurfacing or meniscal allograft (Carlan et al., 2009) to reduce the pressure and increase the contact area in the lunate fossa. In these conditions, PRC may be an interesting alternative for patients with satisfactory preoperative muscle function and intact lunate fossa and capitate head.
