2015, Journal of Membrane ScienceCitation Excerpt :Wienk et al. [12] investigated the effect of PVP as additive to PES spinning solution and reported that the morphology of fabricated membrane is influenced by the rheological properties and phase behavior of the polymer solution. The effects of PEG molecular weight and blending PVP on the structure of PES hollow fiber membrane were investigated elsewhere [13] which increasing the molecular weight of PEG changed the structure of membrane from a double layer fingerlike to a structure with spherical and ellipsoidal shape voids [14]. Phase separation behavior of PEI/solvent/nonsolvent additive was investigated elsewhere [15] where nine nonsolvent additives were studied.
