Highlights

► We provide the first phytochemical information on the Amazonian genus Tachia. ► We isolated a rare secoiridoid monoterpene aglycone, amplexine, from T. grandiflora. ► Amplexine (djalonenol) has previously only been found in Anthocleista spp. (gentians). ► We isolated a xanthone, decussatin, that is widely distributed within the Gentianaceae.
