Resource utilization across the continuum of HIV care: An emergency department-based cohort study
2021, American Journal of Emergency MedicineCitation Excerpt :The JHH ED has approximately 70,000 visits annually and an HIV prevalence of 5.6% [16]. The study ED has a long-standing, well-established, integrated HIV screening and linkage-to-care program to identify undiagnosed PLWH and to engage them into care with an affiliated infectious diseases/HIV specialty clinic following an intensive, multi-disciplinarily collaborative linkage-to-care protocol with a tight alliance with local health department and community-based organizations [17,18]. The program also attempted to check HIV care status of previously diagnosed PLWH and re-linked them to care if not in care.
