Mantle cell lymphoma gained acceptance as a distinct subtype of non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1992 as a group of lymphomas that derive from the follicular mantle zone.1 Mantle cell lymphoma is characterized by a t(11:14) chromosomal translocation with overproduction of cyclin D1.2 Mantle cell lymphoma represents approximately 6% of all non-Hodgkins lymphomas. It has a male preponderance, affecting men twice as often as women, and usually affects middle-aged to elderly patients.3, 4 Mantle cell
