Evaluation of tableting performance of Poly (ethylene oxide) in abuse-deterrent formulations using compaction simulation studies
2021, Journal of Pharmaceutical SciencesCitation Excerpt :The SRS numbers of all PEOs and model ADFs are over 2% (most of the materials have SRS number over 10%, as shown in Table S2), indicating a consolidation of all the materials are time-dependent and consolidate predominantly by plastic deformation. Here, we show the same results as previous work on neat PEO compaction.13-14 Compactibility is defined as the ability of a powder to be transformed into a compact of sufficient strength under the effect of densification.32
Investigation of critical factors affecting mechanical characteristics of press-coated tablets using a compaction simulator

2020, International Journal of PharmaceuticsCitation Excerpt :The first step requires a robust control system to accurately and consistently deliver the correct amount of powder into the die (Grymonpré et al., 2018; Jackson et al., 2007). In the second step, a loose powder is compressed into an intact tablet by applying a compaction pressure with the main compression roller (Sinka et al., 2009), sometimes after applying pre-compression at a lower pressure (Vezin et al., 1983; Yang et al., 1997). Tablets are typically produced using a high-speed tableting machine in pharmaceutical industry (Peeters et al., 2015).
Use of roller compaction and fines recycling process in the preparation of erlotinib hydrochloride tablets
2019, European Journal of Pharmaceutical SciencesGluing Pills Technology: A novel route to multilayer tablet manufacturing
2018, International Journal of PharmaceuticsCitation Excerpt :Compression force and punch velocity during the compaction of first layer are critical process parameters with that regard. The extent of compact densification and the porosity of individual layers may be affected by higher values of compression forces and punch velocity, resulting in insufficient interfacial strength and adherence between the layers and, thus, an increased delamination tendency (Karehill et al., 1990; Li et al., 1995; Yang et al., 1997). To reduce the above drawbacks of conventional methods and to achieve flexibility of drug combinations, new technologies are required.
