Abstract

$\text{2}$ is silylated, enolised with KH and converted by the addition of acid to a mixture of epimeric aldehydes $\text{2}$ and $\text{3}$. Subsequent acetylation, oxydation and deacetylation of $\text{3}$ affords 6-Epi-gibberellin-A₃ ($\text{6}$).
