Abstract

The present paper describes a semi-quantitative study about the formation of an adsorbed organometallic compound on polarized mercury, starting from the perfluoro-n-hexyl iodide. For this purpose a programmed linear sweep voltammetry technique is used. The density of the organometallic layer produced is found to depend on the polarisation of the metal and exhibits a maximum value corresponding to a compact molecular monolayer.
