Formate as a key intermediate in CO<inf>2</inf> utilization
2022, Green ChemistryStructure transformations in nickel oxalate dihydrate NiC<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4</inf>·2H<inf>2</inf>O and nickel formate dihydrate Ni(HCO<inf>2</inf>)<inf>2</inf>·2H<inf>2</inf>O during thermal decomposition
2018, Journal of Solid State ChemistryCitation Excerpt :This form is regarded as ordered although below we show that it may be disordered too. Nickel formate as hydrate or anhydrous salt attracts the attention because the process of its decomposition in various media is not studied completely [33–38]. Decomposition of nickel formate allows to obtain the Ni/NiO catalysts for several processes [39].
Effects of hydrolysis and oxidative hydrolysis pretreatments on upgrading of the water-soluble fraction of bio-oil via decarboxylation
2018, Applied EnergyCitation Excerpt :The calculated H group yield was 46.42% (Entry 4 in Table 3). It has been reported that the alone decarboxylation products of pure formic acid were H2, CO [45,46], which might be a good explanation for the low H group yield. To further verify the effects of hydrolysis and oxidative hydrolysis on the decarboxylation, the calcium salts samples of WSF, HWSF and OHWSF were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis under nitrogen atmosphere (Fig. 5).
RGO supported Co-Ni bimetallic magnetically separable nanocatalysts for the reduction of 4-Nitrophenol
2016, Synthetic MetalsCitation Excerpt :Metal formate (nickel formate and cobalt formate), a simple metal-organic precursor consists of only metal (M), oxygen (O), carbon (C) and hydrogen (H). These metal formates on thermal decomposition gives highly pure metal or metal oxides, along with the few by-products like carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2) and water (H2O) which are harmless to the environment [23,24]. Metal formates are attractive because of its easy preparation, low cost as compared with the other generally used and requires relatively lesser temperature to yield pure metallic nanoparticles.
