Excess entropy and resistivity of Mg-based alloys

Abstract

Theoretical calculations for the excess entropies and resistivities of Mg-based liquid alloys are performed using an energy independent nonlocal pseudopotential. It was found that the calculated results reproduce correct concentration dependences for both excess entropies and resistivities. Detailed analysis of the Li-Mg gives confidence to the calculated resistivity for Al-Mg which has not been reported experimentally in the literature.
