Abstract

It is shown that the Schwinger-Dyson equations and Ward identities of non-abelian gauge theories could lead to an infrared behavior g2(q2)∼1q2 for the running coupling constant. This behavior is nonperturbative, and holds for any color group. Whether it is actually realized is now being investigated.
