2022, Drug and Alcohol DependenceDynorphin A (1–8) inhibits oxidative stress and apoptosis in MCAO rats, affording neuroprotection through NMDA receptor and κ-opioid receptor channels
2021, NeuropeptidesCitation Excerpt :The effect of Dynorphin on ischemic brain injury is mainly achieved through two ways, namely the opioid receptor pathway and the non-opioid receptor pathway. Among three classical opioid receptors (κ, δ and μ), κ-opioid receptor is preferentially bound and widely distributed in CNS (Murphy et al., 1996; Slamberová, 2004). It can inhibit the production of cAMP and the activity of calcium channels (Rusin et al., 1997), activate potassium channels and increase the level of intracellular Ca2+ (Jin et al., 1992).
