Assessment of cyclic deformation and critical stress amplitude of jointed rocks via cyclic triaxial testing
2023, Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical EngineeringExperimental investigation for vibration characteristics of jointed rocks using cyclic triaxial tests
2022, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake EngineeringCitation Excerpt :In addition, a handful of research studies have been carried out on jointed rock samples under cyclic uniaxial or triaxial loading conditions. Early Studies on intermittently jointed rock under cyclic uniaxial [52–54] and triaxial [55] loading conditions analysed the effect of cyclic loading on the dynamic strength and deformation behaviour of intermittent joints. Studies by Liu et al. [56–58] further analysed deformation characteristics, energy and fatigue damage and failure mode of intermittent joints under cyclic uniaxial compression.
A review of experimental and theoretical research on the deformation and failure behavior of rocks subjected to cyclic loading
2021, Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical EngineeringExperimental investigation and empirical model to determine the damping and shear stiffness properties of soft rock under multistage cyclic loading
2021, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake EngineeringExperimental investigation and damage modeling of salt rock subjected to fatigue loading
2019, International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining SciencesCitation Excerpt :Since late last century, great efforts have been taken to investigate the response of a variety of rock to fatigue loading. The fatigue behaviors of intact rock (granite, sandstone, marble, mudstone and limestone)26–36 or jointed rock37–42 are dependent on the applied stress, frequency, strain rate, amplitude and loading wave form. The numbers of cycling in fatigue failure (fatigue life) of intact rock and jointed rock reduce with an increase in the higher the applied stress, amplitude and loading frequency.
