Submillimeter observations of CO in Mars' atmosphere

Abstract

We have observed the 3-2 rotational line of CO at 345 GHz on Mars. This line probes Mars' atmosphere up to 80 km and allows the monitoring of the thermal structure of Mars' upper atmosphere.
