High-throughput sequencing approach to access the impact of nanozeolite treatment on species richness and evenness of soil metagenome
2019, Biocatalysis and Agricultural BiotechnologyCitation Excerpt :The metric calculation was performed using QIIME software (Knight et al., 2010). Nanozeolite (NS6130-09-905) with particle size <80 nm are the alumino-silicates with a good cation exchange capacity (1.74mmol/g) due to which is responsible for their high affinity towards cations like Na+, K+, Ca2+ etc. (Navorotsky et al., 1995). The X-Ray Power Diffraction (XRD) patterns of nanozeolite exhibit diffraction peaks similar to that of zeolite (Fig. 1).
Zeolite metastability as a function of the composition of the surrounding solution: The case of faujasite and zeolite omega
2011, Microporous and Mesoporous MaterialsCitation Excerpt :This phenomenon affects in a more severe way the formation of the aluminium-richer faujasite than the formation of the silica-richer zeolite omega. The relative stabilities of zeolitic phases depend at a limited extent on their quite similar free enthalpies [30–32]. They much more depend on the composition of the solution they are in contact with.
Crystallization of amorphous silicates far from equilibrium part II: Experimental insight into the key role of decoupled cation mobilities
2011, Journal of Non-Crystalline SolidsCitation Excerpt :Amorphous materials prepared by sol–gel are used in order to enhance the crystallization even below Tg. Indeed, these materials have extreme surface/volume ratios [21] and show larger disequilibrium [22,23], higher reactivity and enhanced surface diffusion [24] compared to regular glasses. These materials are therefore ideal to track bypassing of classical crystallization pathways through fast diffusion of mobile cations.
