Epigenetic marks of prenatal air pollution exposure found in multiple tissues relevant for child health
2019, Environment InternationalCitation Excerpt :However, there were a few DMRs with a relatively small magnitude of change in methylation. Emerging evidence from the environmental epidemiology field suggests that small magnitudes of change in DNA methylation can be highly reproducible and biologically relevant (Breton et al., 2017; Giri and Hollinger, 1979; Joubert et al., 2016; Ramakrishnan et al., 1981). A unique aspect of our study was the ability to examine exposure-related methylation changes across 2 developmentally relevant tissues – cord blood and placenta – among the same study population.
Investigating Structure and Dynamics of Proteins in Amorphous Phases Using Neutron Scattering
2017, Computational and Structural Biotechnology JournalCitation Excerpt :Contrast variation studies have been used to study the structure of macromolecules in multicomponent systems. Examples of this methodology in biological systems are presented in the literature [25, 47-51]. The basic idea of this method is that the scattered intensity depends on Δρ (see Eq.(6)), that is, how well a molecule scatters with respect to the solvent.
